My passion is web development, especially creating mashups with different API's. I work tirelessly to ensure my best work and have found constant testing is key to successful work product. If not writing code you can find me with friends, preferably near a boat or water. I love to scuba dive, snowboard, hike and travel. I am involved in a couple local organizations including a Adobe Flex Developers Group and Red Hand Society (as a web developer) which helps artist's to put on shows to display their work.

History:
I have been interested in computers my entire life, but I would say my introduction to the world of web and print was in High School. I took a Photoshop class and was hooked. I spent 3 years with half my day devoted to web and print based media. This led me to pursue a bachelor's degree from Ferris State University.
At Ferris State I went in with my main direction as printing, and decided to double major in Printing Management and New Media Printing & Publishing. During my college years, mostly for fun, I also started up a t-shirt company with a bunch of my designs. It became obvious the best way to get the word out was to create a website. What started as a side project quickly became my passion and I was sucked into the world of web development. I learned HTML, CSS, and PHP first, and with my teachers’ support, they allowed me to focus on programming languages as part of my core classes.
While at Ferris I also held a web developer position at the Student Leadership & Activities department. Some of my duties were maintaining the graphic design and developing forms on the user front end, while using Coldfusion to process the data on the administrative back-end. Another aspect of my job was maintaining the Student Volunteer Center database, which had about 700 active users at the time. I graduated in 2008 and was hired by Worth Higgins & Associates to work in their web development department.
Currently:
For over two years now I have worked at Worth Higgins & Associates on a wide spectrum of projects which has given me a chance to learn custom application development in languages such as Adobe Flex, Javascript, HTML, CSS, PHP, & PSQL. I am constantly researching breaking coding techniques like mobile development, HTML5, and CSS3.
One of my major undertakings was integrating a new MIS system called Hiflex which is completely open. I was lucky enough to be sent to Germany to learn their system based on Linux, PHP, Postgre SQL. They have a PHP API SDK which gave me the opportunity to create a couple different mash ups to other webservices. Also in their system is a ecommerce solution called Webshop which sits on top of Drupal, a PHP content management framework. In the summer of 2010 I was sent to New York to be trained on that system and take the lead for development.
Polarfin:
I am also a contributor to Polarfin; a collaboration of designers and developers dedicated to creating solid applications. Our first app will be coming out soon. I have been handling all back-end development, while working with front-end interactive designer/developer Levi Beach. I can't give many details on the project since it hasn't been released but here is a taste.
iamFiscus:
Though I am in many different avenues of the web I am constantly doing freelance work which gives me a wide range of projects. I love doing mashups and anything PHP related. I have been trying to do more with Hybrid mobile applications based on Javascript frameworks like Appcelerator. However the only one I have done is the mobile version of my website which uses a Javascript & HTML5/CSS3 framework called Sencha Touch.
