I graduated in 2008 from Ferris State University with a two Bachelor’s degrees. One degree was in Printing Management, which focus’s on the technical aspects of printing along with managerial functions such as pricing, scheduling, and supervision. The second degree was in New Media Printing and Publishing, where I studied graphic design, networks, web development, and database architecture. I also had a heavy focus in programming, where I learned Java, PHP, MySql, Apache, and Microsoft Server 2003.
During college I held a position in the Student Leadership and Activities department at Ferris State University as head web developer. Some of my duties were maintaining the graphic design, and developing forms on the user front end, while using Coldfusion to process the data on the administrative back-end. Another aspect of my job was maintaining the Student Volunteer Center database, which had about 700 active users at the time. I also created a clothing line called LividBliss, which is based of my designs. The LivdBliss website is currently under construction.
After graduation I was hired by Worth Higgins and Associates as a Web Developer. Since working there I have helped rebrand our division into Worth IMS. Our main focus is building e-commerce storefront’s, which create dynamic press ready PDF’s on the fly, utilizing variable data printing. I also began creating custom scripts to handle dynamic personalized URLs. Soon after this I became interested in Adobe Flex, and have started experimenting with marketing dashboards and AIR applications to help handle the heavy databases.
I was recently asked to undertake research and development, for new cross media markets. Also I am beginning to get into the iPhone SDK.
